] |
Whaaaaaaat up! I Dreamer is sitting in our friend's basement here in Madison, Wisconsin after a sweet meal. I haven't had many opportunities to update this in the least, cause it's not often that I'm near a computer, but tour has been great. The shows have been fun, and we've hung out with some good friends. Everyone should check out Heirs from Port Huron, Michigan and the Moment from Rockford, Illinois. Both have Myspace accounts, and they are a) AWESOME, and b) Super nice dudes who deserve everything that happens for them (which is hopefully a lot!).
We're heading to Effingham, Illinois today, which should be a good time. We're having a few tour date updates, such as us playing in Nashville on the 15th. So please head over to http://www.idreameronline.com and keep up to see if we're playing you're area.
New AIM Icons at idreameronline.com too!
Hugs-

Small Towns Burn A Little Slower- Mortality As Home Ent.... |
] |
So far we're heading into day three of recording at Viking Studios in Medina, NY. The experience has definitely been an enjoyable one, and we're stoked working with our fearless studio leader Brian Moore (Seven Head Division, Fire When Ready, Dead Poetic). The past few days have sort of been a blur for me, because I work late evenings (10 pm to 6 am), and I've been surviving on bits of sleep here and there in various nooks and crannies of the studio. Everything sounds so wonderful though! I don't want to give anything away, but the guitar tones we have going just have this mature Hey Mercedes sort of sound to it. And we're loving it.
We should actually be on our last and final day of recording, but unfortunately the folks at Viking had been cancel on Friday due to things outside of their control. Which is just peachy with us. However! Tom, Andy and myself did not receive the news till we drove an hour to an hour and a half out there, finally receiving the phone call upon pulling up to the building (the studio is in an former Pickle Factory!). Once we got over the wasted and took a gander of the situation inside, we return to Andy's car to head back home. Andy done locked his keys inside his car! Which resulted in us sitting around waiting for AAA for an hour! Sheesh...it was funny though nonetheless.
Last entry I had made, I had said by today we would have lots of new stuff to show off to everyone. Unfortunately due to the cancelled date on Friday, we have to rearrange plans. Hopefully by TOMORROW evening, we will have tons of brand new stuff. Thanks!-

So today was my 22nd (!) birthday. Honestly, I was pretty stoked on it. I'm starting to get old, but 22 sounds like a nice even and mature age. Went to the 'rents house and scored some awesome food and a box of Cornflakes (?). Later on hung out with my girlfriend Laura, which resulted in having fun, a cake, and the Garden State dvd! AWESOME. Definitely can not complain about the events of this past day.
Otherwise, we're heading out to recording in less than two weeks. We're also devising our new website. Our awesome webdesigner Laurie over at Manic Haze is being her usual amazing self, and hooking us up with a sweet site. Check her out over at http://www.manichaze.com . The site should be up by October 16th (along with new songs...)
Remember all of this: new songs, new website, new tour dates, new photos, and really new EVERYTHING this October 16th. Get awesome!-

Hey everyone! It's been a ridiculous amount of time since I've updated this thing. Partly with the intent of having our flyer for the 23rd up for everyone to see, partly out of laziness. However! I'm back, and much news to attend to...
First of all- thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who came to see us at the Penny last Friday here in Rochester! The show was incredibly fun, and from what I hear, everyone had a blast. We do apologize for the mix up in set/starting times, and even the unfortunate events that occurred later in the evening. Nonetheless, it was wonderful to see some old and even new faces. Honestly, bands owe every single thing they have to the people who care about them. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.
Our next Rochester performance is going to be November 2nd, and this show will be top notch. There are a lot of plans for this next one, not to mention to kick off our November tour. Please try to stay tuned for info as we solidify it this week. I can promise no one will want to miss out!
Our next show is in Syracuse for October 9th courtesy of Red Fence Productions. Definitely will be an awesome time. October 29th we're going to be rocking one hell of a Halloween bash in Detroit, Michigan, and all of November we'll be on the road. Tour dates will be posted soon.
Also, we've been locked in the basement writing new material for our recording dates in mid-October. And all I can say is "holy bologna".
Stoked! Hugs and kisses

Little Compass - Discover |

Not much is shaking down as of late. I've been extremely exhausted and am in need of a job. Blah. Kevvy-poo has been afflicted with mono, so he's feeling pretty blah-ish himself. Every so often I walk by his bedroom, and he's either a) wrapped up in a blanket on his couch watching tv, or b) wrapped up in a blanket on his couch asleep. And currently I'm petrified to go within 10 feet of the kid, cause I have no business catching it. For some reason I can't help but think that the kid is carrying something like typhoid or the bubonic plague, and his section of the house should be blocked off and burnt to the ground. Kinda like the Middle Ages...
Just a couple hours ago, I helped out Tom and our boy Dave with acquiring some vodka. Yes: Tom is still an alcoholic. Is he still loveable? Yes. Unfortunately for him, he does not have the proper photographic identification to prove himself as a legal adult and purchaser of alcoholic beverages. However, fortunately for me I do. So with this to my advantage, Tom is able to get his beer and I am handsomely paid for my services. Awesome.
Andy and I are a force to be reckoned with. And by that I mean we mill around malls day in and day out. The fleeting thrills of surburbia! And everyday we talk about how we can't wait to be on tour again. Those days are coming soon. It's too bad booking takes time.
Jeff is sorting some life situations out currently. But he's on the winning team. Hugs and kisses and all that go out to him.
Despite the current battles waged with illness/cheap thrills/boredom, it's looking like we're gonna be playing in Rochester again on September 23rd. Please stay tuned for details as they develop. We're very excited about this show. And depending on how this one turns out, it'll determine quite a bit for us from now on regarding local appearances.
Stoooooked! See you soon-

Little Compass - Demolition |

Last night we had an awesome time at Ellison Park with our friends in Little Compass and Adios. They've had some rough patches of luck the past week on their tour, and besides staying with Andy the night of their Syracuse show, they came back to Rochester a day early due to their Ontario show cancelling. It's been so much fun hanging out with those dudes though. Both of them played AMAZING, and everyone seriously needs to take the opportunity to check them out.
What I think I love about those dudes is how sincere and legit they are. They are actually our friends and we have fun hanging out. There's a lot of bands out there who try to be all 'best bud's' with you at shows and stuff, just to be diplomatic. Like, they don't give a shit about you, but want you to give a shit about their band. Many bands won't admit that goes on, but it does. Little Compass and Adios want to help us out just as much as we want to help them, so it rules.
Otherwise, we're not gonna be rocking too many shows for the next month or so. Just trying to write and record new material. Please keep on the lookout for it. I'll make sure to leave updates on here as things progress. Thanks everyone who came out last night! This wouldn't be fun without you-

As Friends Rust - A Trophy Band in the Parlance of Our Times |

Damny damn, it feels like it's been so long since I've updated this! (but in reality, only a couple days...internet junkies)
So last night, our good friends from Austin, Texas, Little Compass, and their friends from Akron, Ohio, called Adios, ran into some tough luck. They're currently on tour together and were supposed to be playing in Syracuse last night. For one reason or another, the show failed to exist, and the promoter remained unavailable for them to get in contact with. Weird! I know the person who 'booked' the show, and they've always been super awesome to us. So it made no sense to Andy or I as to what occurred. But we were sort of stoked, cause they both ended up coming to Andy's palace to crash for the night. We had an awesome time of eating the Champions' chicken (Champion is Andy's last name!), drinking beer, and telling ghost stories! Oh, and keep on the look out for one crucial band called 'X If a Tree Falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, did it make a sound? X'. Good times were had by all.
We're rocking with them on Monday when they return from their few dates in Canada. It's gonna rule!
I'm currently booking tours for us in each month from October through January. We should be hitting good portions of the Northeast, Midwest (east of the Mississippi), and the dirty dirty South. So if anyone is interested in us rocking their town, hit me up. Let's see what we can do!
Hugs and Kisses-
-Chris

Modern Life is War - Witness |
] |
Today Andy and I just hung around the house today. We were bringing all our equipment to the basement of his house, to fashion our new practice space. We were all sorts of lazy, and ended up just eating a ton of food (I kinda consume a lot...). And we were even so lucky to watch a Steven Segal movie! I really don't get it. Steven Segal is seriously a horrible actor. How does that man stay in business? It must be cause he's surrounded by actual competent actors. Ya know? Like, he has the same expression at every given moment. 'I'm happy' (stern look), 'Now I'm angry' (same stern look), 'I've been engulfed by a large man eating tomato, and I can feel my eyeballs releasing some salty water that I think are called tears' (stern look). And the one liners are terrible! Yet...I can't help but watch him. *sigh* Nonetheless, it can be pretty exciting!
So today I saw on someone's MySpace profile that I'm their hero!! What the heck?! I never thought I'd ever see that. It honestly is the most flattering thing ever. In no way, shape or form, do I tihnk I'm of 'hero' worth. But hey, it rules! Thank you so much duder.
Alrighty, going to sleep. See ya!-

That's right, the boys from I Dreamer hung out in the sun today to get some updated pics for everyone to fawn over (just head right over to http://www.myspace.com/idreamer to take a look). Many thanks to my good friend Pat Stefano (www.inaheartbeat.cjb.net) for helping us out with that. We'll have a few more taken in the next few weeks. So if you liked these, make sure to look out for the next batch. I'd really like to thank everyone who has added us as a friend on Myspace the past couple weeks, have put our links in your profiles/away messages, and anything else. It truly means a great deal to us! Honestly, you have no idea how important your support is to a band. Without you, we wouldn't have much luck enjoying what we do. And many thanks to the various people who have extended their time and efforts to help us out. Many shout outs are always in need. Alise (our new found designer of sorts), Stefano, Brian Allerton, Shawn Carney, and anyone else who has helped us out. Thanks!

Paramore - All We Know is Falling |
] |
Last night Andy and I saw 'Wedding Crashers' at Regal. It was effing hilarious! Everyone please do themselves a favor and go see this movie. Thankfully, I get to see movies for free (haha). Andy works at the local regal theater, so he's allotted up to 4 free tickets a day. Mad cool. Therefore we take advantage of the opportunity at every chance we can. War of the Worlds? FREE. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? FREE. I've seen more movies this past year, than the rest of my entire life.
We also worked on a new song Kevin wrote yesterday. It is coming along nicely, and I have a feeling people are gonna be into it. It's in 6/8, so a slightly slower song to our usual barrage of upbeat indie power houses. Believe me though folks, it's a power house all it's own. Since Jeff wasn't at practice (he was catching up with bills), Kevin filled in on drums. I've been best friends with Kevin since we were like 14, and bro is like one of the Kinsella's or something. Anything he puts his mind to he's awesome at! Vocals, guitar, bass, drums, piano....it's crazy. And since he writes songs, it's an added bonus to have another song writer in the band.
Andy's been hard at work keeping on top of our Myspace profile, and I hope everyone is keeping up with him! We made a decision recently that we should try to maintain it to the best of our abilities. A lot of bands have Myspace accounts, but rarely message their fans back, or comment back, or put forth the effort to get in contact with them (not saying anything bad about these bands, it's hard work!). But we thought that these things were worth all the effort to let our fans know that we appreciate them. So thank you! If it takes a little while, please know that he's on top of it. There's just a lot of responding to do! Alright, till next time
-Chris

Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin |
] |
So yesterday was Tom's birthday. If you can, you should really shoot him a 'Happy Birthday!' (his screen name is 'tomzenns') Everybody got together at his house to party down, but things were looking a little on the boring side. We sat around his computer sampling bands on Pure Volume as plans were being made to go party. The plan was to meet some friends at a Wendy's in Chili (one of the surrounding suburbs), and make our way to a party. We headed out, and it just so happened that we were getting down with some good friends of Kevin - Bedlight For Blue Eyes. Everyone was pretty stoked to meet each other, and Tom Zenns was getting an early start on his habitual drug and alchol abuse. As we rammed around town though, it seemed less and less likely this party even existed everytime we did a U turn cause of a wrong way. Mad lame.
I was stoked though, cause Kevin and I had Bedlight come back to our palace to crash. They were all beat, and conked out immediately. But Kevin, myself, and Christian (the singer) stayed up just chatting about whatever. Eventually, we went out to Denny's and ended up home at 5 am in the morning. Definitely gotta say, Christian was a bro. So down to earth, and so just posi about everything. The type of person who likes to see the good in all situations. We went to sleep, and it was smoldering (our central air is kinda 'meh'). It was fun while it lasted though.
Today we played a completely amazing benefit show in Rochester. Our friend Charlie Cotes, who is in an awesome local band called Five Star Riot is experiencing some hard times. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cancer, and has been battling it for a while though. Due to all the treatments, the hospital bills have been piling. And so, some 15 odd bands rocked for the whole day, in hopes to raise money for Charlie. The venue donated a full day to the cause free of charge, and tons of kids came out. I think it's safe to say everyone had a great time at the show. Our best wishes go out to Charlie and his family.
Otherwise we're stoked to rock on the 15th with our good friends Outsmarting Simon, Lock and Key, and Little Compass. It's been a while. And after that? Writing and recording! Seriously cannot wait.
xoxo, Christopher

The Forecast - Late Night Conversations |

What up folks? I Dreamer is updating, and now we can be accessed through various online mediums. Now we have our Pure Volume account for listening needs, MySpace for you social butterflies, and Live Journal to get the deep and dirty 'real deal' on the band. Unfortunately the website is currently down. BUT! Our new friend Alise from Columbus, Ohio is going to be helping us out with that. So please stay tuned for upcoming modifications to the Dream Team rock train. Thank you Alise! (especially for helping our computer illiterate asses out and making our live journal look so pretty)
There has been a ridiculous amount of changes and alterations in the past month. Some of you may have seen us on tour, and then checked us out on MySpace or Pure Volume, to see some people you don't recall ever seeing at the shows...Well, there is an explanation for that. I Dreamer has been forever plagued by member changes. And right before we left on tour, we had undergone some things like that. Travis Rankin and Craig Watters both performed vocal and drum duties respectively in the band previously. Their presence is still evident in the songs on our Pure Volume and MySpace. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whom you speak to) we ended up with two slightly different folks to take their places.
To fill the drum throne is our good friend Jeff Haschmann. We're stoked to have him along for the ride. He wasn't able to make it on this past tour with us, but he's ready for all the ones coming up. And it's gonna be sweet. The man has been playing jazz drums for god knows how long, and has toured the nation rocking with great jazz acts. Now after a bit of a hiatus, he's looking to play around the country again.
And our new singer may be a familiar face to a lot of people. My roommate and best friend, Kevin Mahoney, has now taken over vocal duties for I Dreamer. You may remember him from when he played bass in Trustkill's resident glitzy rock act, Roses Are Red. After saying farewell to the RAR, Kevin was in search of a band he felt more at home with. Honestly, I don't think the turnout could've been better.
At this point, everyone in the band have gone to school and grown up together. Everyone is on the same page and best friends. Which I think is the number one thing any band must have to succeed. New press photos will be taken extremely soon to stay up to date with the current happenings. Also, we're looking to write and record new tracks as soon as possible. Since the line-up has made it through such a drastic change, we would like to try and respect everyone without further stepping on toes. Therefore, by slowly (but hopefully quickly) eliminating old songs and replacing them.
Bottom line: New people, new songs, new photos, new site, new shows, new clothes (hugs and kisses to Rockett Clothing). Mad stoked.
-Chris
